PacketHop Aware™ Applications Suite

The AWARE™ Applications Suite is a component of the PacketHop Communications System that provides broadband, server-less applications for peer-to-peer communications. It includes four integrated applications, designed for use by public safety agencies, municipal services agencies and video surveillance applications. Aware is optimized to work without a network connection or server.

Aware includes real-time multicast video, interactive map information with GPS integration, instant messaging, and whiteboarding. Utilizing Dynamesh software, Aware enables a computer to communicate directly with other PacketHop Communications System components.

Real-time Multicast Video:

Live video can be invaluable for assessing a situation and responding with maximum effectiveness. Multiple high-quality video feeds can be selectively multicast and viewed individually or concurrently; new video feeds can be quickly added at any time. Remote commanders, colleagues and observers can securely view encrypted video streams over a WiFI backhaul or cellular connection to participate as if they were on scene.

Mapping & GPS Location Tracking:

High-resolution maps with real-time resource location tracking show who is at the scene and where they are at any time, using any standard Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. The system can use any maps currently owned by an agency or Google Earth maps. Maps can also be used without GPS systems for white boarding, simple viewing and self-reported locations.

Multimedia Instant Messaging:

In addition to text-based instant messages, users can share files in a variety of formats - including digital photographs, documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, and video frames. This facilitates one-to-one and one-to-many sessions either within an agency or among multiple agencies.

White boarding:

Two or more users can share tactical information graphically (e.g. to annotate a map, video frame or other image) and collaborate on a course of action. This virtual white board is especially powerful in situations where it is impossible to meet face-to-face.
