PacketHop DynaMesh Technology

DynaMesh is the innovative video and mobile-mesh network technology that powers the PacketHop Communication System, providing mesh connectivity and making infrastructure optional. Supporting 4.9 GHz public safety band, 802.11 a/b/g spectrum and, optionally, cellular data networks, DynaMesh allows every device to send, receive and route data and to instantly form an extended WiFi zone on-the-fly for sharing video and other multimedia applications. This autonomous mobile-mesh network can operate with or without wireless access points making infrastructure optional. DynaMesh is included with all PacketHop components.

The PacketHop Communication System enables an autonomous mobile-mesh network to form immediately and adapt automatically as two or more users move into proximity of one another. The highly scalable network grows and becomes more resilient as additional users arrive, with no practical limit on the geography, number of users or variety of agencies; the network adjusts itself as users enter, move about and depart the area.

Only PacketHop's DynaMesh

  • Provides both autonomous networking and also works with standard WiFi access points or cellular networks.
  • Is optimized for bandwidth intensive content such as video streaming and VoIP.
  • Is ideal for mobile implementations, where connections come and go at a moment's notice.

How PacketHop's mobile-mesh works

  • As nodes come into range of each other, they establish a connection.
  • Common connections extend the network, connecting nodes together that would otherwise be out of range and providing enhanced communications and range.
  • If access points are unavailable, a broadband local area network is still available for supporting peer-to-peer communications.
  • Multimedia applications, such as video, can be shared between nodes or backhauled to allow others to participate as if they were on the scene.
