PacketHop Aware™ Applications Suite
The AWARE™ Applications Suite provides broadband, server-less applications for peer-to-peer communications and video access. It includes four integrated applications and is optimized to work with or without a network connection or access to a server.
Aware includes real-time multicast video, interactive map information with GPS integration, instant messaging, and whiteboarding. Utilizing DynaMesh software, Aware enables a computer to communicate directly with other PacketHop components.
Real-time Multicast Video:
Live video can be invaluable for monitoring and assessing a situation and responding with maximum effectiveness. Multiple high-quality video feeds can be selectively multicast and viewed individually or concurrently; new video feeds can be quickly added at any time. Security management, as well as responding public safety personnel can securely view encrypted video streams via a PacketHop Mesh Exchange or Mobile Router to view video and share information on the scene, or over a WiFi backhaul or cellular connection to participate as if they were there.
Mapping & GPS Location Tracking:
High-resolution maps with real-time resource location tracking show the location of video cameras as well as the location of other PacketHop nodes to display who is at the scene and where they are at any time. The system can use any maps currently owned by a facility or agency as well as Google Earth maps. Maps can also be used without GPS systems for white boarding, simple viewing and self-reported locations.
Multimedia Instant Messaging:
In addition to text-based instant messages, Aware users can share files in a variety of formats - including digital photographs, documents, spreadsheets, diagrams, and video frames. This facilitates one-to-one and one-to-many sessions between security personnel, public safety officers or among multiple agencies.
White boarding:
Two or more users can share tactical information graphically (e.g. to annotate a map, video frame or other image) and collaborate on a course of action. This virtual white board is especially powerful in situations where it is impossible to meet face-to-face.
